I was overjoyed to join the cast of Graeme of Thrones performing at Perth Fringe, Geraldton Funtavia and Adelaide Fringe. This was my first visit to Australia and it's a trip I'll never forget. Graeme of Thrones is an anarchic comedy retelling of the series performed in this version by myself and brilliant actor/comedians John-Luke Roberts and Ross Spaine. We'll be back performing in the UK Tour in June. Graeme of Thrones Website
I'm absolutely thrilled with the response that Egomaniac received when it premiered at Fright Fest UK last month. Here, myself, Adam Rhys-Davies (Actor), Kate Shenton (Director), and Sidney Malik (Producer) chat to Premiere Scene about making the film and how it highlights issues that female filmmakers face in the industry.
Congratulations to Kate and all the Egomaniac cast and crew!
I'm so pleased to announce that Egomaniac is going to premiere at Fright Fest this August! Congratulations to Kate Shenton and all the team :-) The film is also now being co-produced with the weirdly wonderful folks at Crypt UK with whom I may be working with in the future... (news coming soon!). If you would like see Egomaniac's premiere, it is on Sunday 28th August at Vue in Shepherd's Bush, tickets are here. I can't wait to go to my first premiere! Nx
I'm extremely excited and honoured to announce that Gamechanger, the comedy musical I'm creating with writer Adam Rhys-Davies (The Twins Macabre) and composer Alex Beetschen (MD from Shock Treatment) has been nominated for the Stiles + Drewe MTI Mentorship Award!
We're over the moon and hope to have a rehearsed reading of the show very soon!
FInd out more about the prize here
I'm very pleased to announce I'll be doing some regular voiceover and characters for the wonderful folks at Hoopla Kids / Grassroots Media! I absolutely love creating silly voices and using accents, so I'm really excited to get stuck in!
Congratulations to Kate Shenton as her latest feature film Egomaniac is finished! In it I am fortunate enough to play the lead Catherine Sweeney.
'The film is semi-autobiographical, drawing on Kate’s own experiences as a female filmmaker in the industry. Dancing between fact and fiction, it is a satirical comedy which focuses on the treatment of women in the industry and how far an artist will go to get their work made.'
Find more info on the film on the Egomaniac website.
I'm thrilled to announce that Shock Treatment has received a nomination in the WhatsOnStage Awards for Best Off West End Production! Voting can be found here. I have nothing but the utmost respect for all the cast and crew of this show and hope that all their hard work can be recognised!
A belated Happy Halloween to you! The Twins Macabre have been very busy, as this year we did an epic 8 Halloween performances. This photo by Alison Lewis was from a wonderful night we headlined at The Cabaret Club in Rochester, Kent. That show went brilliantly and we were thrilled to be so well received outside of London. Hopefully more regional gigging will be on the cards.
The mixed bill nights culminated in a reboot of our full hour-long Edinburgh Fringe show 'Small Mediums at Large' at the amazing Century Club, Soho! Wonderful to see lots of new faces in the audience, as well as old friends and some of the lovely Shock Treatment fans who were accordingly dressed to the nines in grisly garb!
News coming soon about the next outing of The Twins... watch this space.. (and your back!)
I'm really excited to be starting rehearsals for The Princess and the Pea, a joint production between Youaremine. and The Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells with a brilliant script by Tom Crowley (writer of Shock Treatment). I'm playing the role of Princess, who in our version is a punky, tough, outspoken, vegetable growing farmer's daughter - so refreshing to be performing a principal girl written with such clout and genuine jokes! The show will be performing on the 28th, 29th and 31st at the Trinity Theatre.
